About Alex Goldberg

Another day, another airport!

Over more than a decade in the entertainment and event industries, Alex has acquired experience working on a diverse array of productions. His lighting design work has been seen on the stages of four continents and his extensive touring background allows him to deliver a comprehensive production advance, solve on site problems effectively, and adapt quickly to new developments.

For the last seven years, Alex has worked closely with Dita Von Teese, the Queen of Burlesque, on all her touring appearances. Initially joining the company as only the Lighting Designer, he demonstrated his competency in multiple ways and eventually took on the roles of Technical Director and Production Manager. As Dita’s LD/TD/PM in 2018, he led the world’s largest touring burlesque revue to success in over 40 cities in countries across the globe, delighting tens of thousands of fans. He is currently working on development for her upcoming Glamonatrix tour, visiting Australia, New Zealand, and nations across Europe and North America.

With a wide skill set, Alex is able to manage various responsibilities within a production. In addition to executing unique lighting designs, he is a fluent programmer on the ETC Eos and GrandMA2 families of lighting console and regularly creates detailed technical drawings in Vectorworks. He is an active communicator adept at creating ground plans, schedules, budgets, and all the various tracking paperwork needed to ensure success.

Based in Berlin, Germany for the last eight years, Alex thrives on creative collaboration and developing exceptional concepts for art and entertainment. Originally from the United States and no stranger to time spent traveling, he is available to work in various roles on projects worldwide. Prior to his time in Berlin, he lived in New York City and worked as an Associate Lighting Designer for the lighting design firm Arc3design on many large projects including diplomatic State Dinners in the Obama White House, multi-million-dollar weddings, and outdoor amusement park spectaculars.

When he’s not working, Alex can often be found on a bicycle, playing board games, or continuing the search for the best vegetarian dumplings in the world. (There are a lot of contenders to consider.) Reach out using the button below and let’s talk!
